At our office, you can experience the convenience of one-visit dentistry. When you need a crown, bridge or veneer, Dr. Wenicur uses her CEREC system to design and mill the restoration—all from right within her office and on the same day. Dr. Wenicur also performs one-visit root canal therapy and thanks to her CEREC, she is able to create and place the new crown at the same time.
What is CEREC?
CEREC (short for CEramic REConstruction) is a dental restoration design and milling system which allows Dr. Wenicur to provide new tooth restorations (crowns, partial crowns, bridges or veneers) in a single office visit.
Instead of having to wear a temporary and waiting several weeks for the restoration to be made by a dental lab, you can get your new tooth restoration in as little as one hour. There is no need for a second appointment and no need to be anesthetized a second time.
Digital Design = Beautiful Results
To create the new crowns, veneers or dental bridges, Dr. Wenicur uses her CEREC Omnicam® 3D scanner to take digital impressions of your teeth. This is much more comfortable than traditional, goopy impression material.
The digital impressions are imported into CEREC’s planning software, and Dr. Wenicur carefully designs the new dental restoration. Once the design is complete, the information is sent to the in-office CEREC milling machine. The restoration is fabricated from a solid block of high-quality ceramic and hand-stained by Dr. Wenicur to precisely match the shade of the rest of your teeth so that it seamlessly blends into your smile and looks natural.
